The Josh Miles Award recognizes the tournament’s Top Boat: the yacht that scores the highest average points per Veteran angler. 

Awarded for the first time at the 2022 tournament, Top Boat honors require a unique combination of dedication, leadership, and teamwork—all traits that were strongly displayed by Josh every day.

The Top Boat award celebrates the boat—and team—that creates a special synergy, strives to get their Veterans on fish, works together as a cohesive unit, and focuses on achieving their ultimate goal. Every team takes to the water with their own unique strategy, and this award celebrates the group—and individual—efforts made to achieve the team’s goal.

Most important, this award helps keep the spirit of our good friend, Josh, with us throughout future tournaments. A loyal and true leader and friend, Josh was one of the heartbeats of the WHOW family. He helped us build our tournament, brick by brick, by our side every step of the way. He did this because of his love for his fellow servicemen and women and for his country. Josh spent countless hours helping us fulfill our tournament’s promise to honor and heal the Veterans we serve, and we are forever grateful for his legacy.
